This seminar will cover the basics of filing the summons for unlawful detainer, from filing to eviction. Topics to be discussed include recommended practices for: case intake; completing the SFUD form and supporting documents; service of process issues; anticipating defenses; pleading issues (bill of particulars; grounds of defense; and counter claims); elements of proof at trial; the attorney’s fees affidavit; post judgment procedures (request for writ of possession; requesting a bond); and other practice pointers and traps for the unwary.
